Like most new receivers, this sleek number plays a wide variety of formats, including standard and recordable DVDs and CDs, plus CD-Rs or CD-RWs. But JVC adds a feature that'll blow your mind: Giga MP3. Using your computer and appropriate software, you can burn up to 100 hours of MP3s or WMAs on a single recordable DVD, and the KD-DV5100 will play them. All of them. That's an unprecendented amount of music, all on a single disc, right at your fingertips!
The combination of plenty of MOSFET power (20 watts x 4 channels RMS), excellent sound controls (the adjustable six curves of Custom EQ), and 24-bit digital-to-analog resolution makes your music and movie soundtracks sound forceful, vibrant, and lifelike. To enjoy DVD video, you'll need to connect an external monitor to the video output. For private listening, you can also connect the KD-DV5100's audio outputs to the transmitter for a set of wireless headphones.
And if system expansion's part of your plans, the KD-DV5100 is ready to accommodate. It features a front-panel auxiliary input, so you can add a portable player, such as an iPod™. And three sets of preamp outputs let you connect external amplifiers to drive your system with more power.
To make using the system easy, for you or your passengers, the KD-DV5100 also comes with a full-function, comprehensive wireless remote control.
