It confirms Leica's exceptional reputation for outstanding quality and optical performance, according to the overall opinion. Special mention was given to the excellent optics, which feature "perfect definition and low distortion over the whole Zoom Daterange". The centre-weighted exposure system works extremely accurately and guarantees perfect results, even in difficult light conditions. The hot shoe for connecting the LEICA CF flash unit as a more powerful alternative to the camera's integrated flash is seen as an "effective solution for red-eye reduction", in addition to offering creative composition potential.
