An indispensable tool for shooting sports and other high-action events, this new super-telephoto lens uses Nikon's performance-proven Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass. Distance Signal technology provides focused-distance information. Also features Internal Focusing and Nikon's unique Silent Wave Motor technology to all but eliminate gear noise. The Silent Wave Motor system induces "traveling waves" which are converted to rotational energy to focus the optics.
NOTE: AF-S lenses, while able to manually focus with all Nikon F-mount cameras, will autofocus ONLY with the following cameras- N65, N70/F70, N80/F80, N90s/F90x, F4, F4s, F5, F100, D1 & D1x.
