Nikon's new 80-400mm high-power zoom lens features an innovative Vibration Reduction (VR) system that allows handheld super-telephoto zoom shooting in poorly lit conditions. The VR system minimizes image blur caused by camera shake, and offers the equivalent of shooting at a shutter speed 3 stops (8 times) faster. The lens offers a natural viewfinder image even during VR operation and also detects automatically when the photographer pans. It is ideal for candid, portrait, sports photography and more.
Features:
- Vibration Reduction Benefits: Result of Vibration Reduction (VR) is equivalent to using a shutter speed 3 f-stops faster.
- Two Vibration Reduction (VR) Modes: 1) VR for Viewfinder and film 2)VR for film only
- Vibration Reduction for Image Plane only: Reduces possibility of viewfinder-induced discomfort and conserves battery power.Automatic panning detection:
- Panning is automatically detected and compensated for by VR system.
- Superior optical performance:
- New optical design using three ED glass elements and a 9-bladed diaphragm.
- Innovative AF Features:
- Built-in A/M switch enables instant switching from autofocus to manual focus.
- Focus range limiter.
- Filter does not rotate for focus or zooming.
