If you're in a growing household or small business, adding more phones just got easier. Panasonic's KX-TG5230M expandable phone system gives you a base unit with a cordless handset, and lets you add up to 3 more cordless handsets (see "Recommended Accessories"). And adding handsets to additional rooms is a breeze. Forget complicated wiring or installation: just plug the optional handset's charger stand into any available AC outlet, and you're done!
The KX-TG5230M uses the uncrowded 5.8 GHz frequency range for both base-to-handset and handset-to-base communication, keeping your conversations secure and static-free. Plus, it won't interfere with Wi-FiŽ home networking devices, which operate in the 2.4 GHz range.
The system uses Panasonic's Talking Caller ID, which gives you the option of having callers' names announced in between phone rings (perfect for times when the handset's out of reach). It also features Call Waiting Caller ID, which lets you view callers' names and numbers before you pick up, even if you're already on a call (requires subscription from local phone service provider). The handset's illuminated LCD shows Caller ID information, and your last 50 incoming calls are stored in memory for convenient return-calling. You also get a 50-entry phone directory for storing the names and numbers of your personal contacts.
Both the cordless handset and base unit have speakerphones, so you can always enjoy hands-free conversation. The base unit also has its own keypad, so you can leave the handset in its cradle while dialing.
