The Panasonic KX-TG5240M expandable phone system gives you all the call-managing options you need for your large household or small business. It starts you out with a base unit and a single cordless handset, and you can add up to 3 more cordless handsets (not included; see "Recommended Accessories") for additional rooms. And don't worry about wiring or installation — just plug the optional handset's charger stand into any availalble AC outlet, and you're done!
The KX-TG5240M uses the uncrowded 5.8 GHz frequency range for both base-to-handset and handset-to-base communication, keeping your conversations secure and static-free. Plus, it won't interfere with Wi-Fi® home networking devices, which operate in the 2.4 GHz range.
A built-in digital answering system with up to 15 minutes total record time manages your calls while you're unavailable. The phone uses Panasonic's Talking Caller ID, which gives you the option of having callers' names announced in between phone rings (perfect for times when the handset's out of reach). Call Waiting Caller ID lets you view callers' names and numbers before you pick up, even if you're already on a call (requires subscription from local phone service provider). An illuminated LCD on the handset shows Caller ID information; your last 50 incoming calls are stored in memory for convenient return-calling. You also get a 50-entry phone directory for storing the names and numbers of your personal contacts.
