Who says you can't have it all? Panasonic's PV-DM2794 entertainment system houses a 27-inch television with a built-in 4-head, hi-fi VCR and a DVD player for high-resolution video and audio. Now you can conserve shelf space without skimping on picture size or quality. In addition to watching the latest DVDs, you can use the combo unit to play home-recorded MPEG-2 video from a DVD-R or DVD-RAM as well as audio-based CD-R and CD-RW.

This set features an optical digital-audio output to channel Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround sound to a surround-decoding audio/video receiver and multichannel speaker system for mind-blowing home theater sound. Depending on the disc, you can select from up to 8 different language soundtracks, 32 subtitle languages, and multiple camera angles. If you don't have a surround system, the player will simulate surround sound from the set's stereo speakers to convey a greater sense of spaciousness.

The 4-head, hi-fi VCR offers 1-month/8-event advance programming and auto clock set, which uses the Extended Data Service signal carried by many PBS stations to automatically set the time.

A front-panel stereo audio/composite-video input simplifies hookup with other entertainment components like an additional VCR, a camcorder, or a video game. Other features include VHS commercial skip (jumping forward in 1- to 3-minute increments), DVD picture zoom, and V-Chip parental control.
