For durability in nature's elements, the new Rocky binoculars are waterproof, when submerged up to 16 feet, and reliably function at temperatures ranging from 176° F to an artic -40° F. In addition, the binoculars' rugged, fully rubber-armored bodies and mil.-spec nitrogen-filled interiors are built for rough handling and are impervious to dust and moisture. At the manageable weight of approximately 25 ounces and dimensions of only 6.1"x4.9"x2.2",the new Rocky will be a welcome addition to a backpack, promising longtime use without fatigue.
As with all Steiner's roof-prism Rocky binoculars, the new 8x42 model utilizes Steiner's exclusive color adjusted transmission (CAT) coated optics. CAT provides light transmission up to 99.8 percent per lens element, ensuring a bright and crisp image with true-to-life color and detail, even in lowest light conditions. In addition to their ability to close-focus extremely well, Steiner's new Rocky also covers vast landscapes, with fields of view of 367 feet at 1,000 yards s for the 8x42.
